Personality:

Palutena is the goddess of light, a role which suits her well. She genuinely cares for the humans under her protection and feels it is her duty to protect them from various threats. (Mostly other gods. Sometimes mythical creature or aliens.) She even goes as far as to involve her forces in a three way war to try to prevent Hades and Viridi from causing more casualties. However, she will respect the boundaries between gods and mortals, and won't interfere with their free will. She doesn't like it when they go to war on each other, but it's not her place to intervene. Unless the threat is supernatural in nature. She even chides Viridi for overstepping her bounds when the latter tries to punish humanity for it's treatment of the natural world. Luckily, Palutena is also practical enough to know when to put differences aside and work together with her enemies. When the Aurum invade the planet she wastes no time striking up an alliance with Hades and Viridi.

Palutena is also the sort of person who likes to be prepared. In addition to handy things like grind rails, she also sends health restoring potions and food. She always makes sure to research the locations and enemies that Pit is likely to face so she can explain them to him while he's fighting. In detail. Including strengths, weaknesses, special attacks, etc. She's also the go-to goddess for obscure trivia. Yeah, she's kind of a nerd. So much so that the other gods call her 'Professor Palutena,' and 'know-it-all.' Not that she minds being a nerd. In fact, she seems to enjoy it. She's quite proud of her knowledge and likes to be the one explaining things to the class. Viridi even teases her at one point, saying that all she needs are thick glasses and some twenty sided dice. Palutena went right along with the joke, even whipping out the aforementioned glasses.

And while we're on that subject, even though Hades is surprised by the revelation, Palutena does indeed have a sense of humor. She barely misses a beat when trading snarky banter with her fellow gods. She also takes their commentary in stride most of the time. Phosphora does manage to hit on a sensitive point for Palutena, her age, but she still gets over her irritation quickly. She teases Pit often, finding his naivete cute. At one point she had him convinced that she can read his mind through his laurel crown. So he'd better not be thinking any dirty thoughts. Actually, she makes up fake goddess powers a lot, just to see which ones Pit will believe in. She also has no problem encouraging him to take short breaks while in dungeons to visit hot springs or try out racetracks.

Some of her jokes border on mean, such as telling him he needs to make some friends or asking him to get her a coffee right after he finishes telling Viridi that he isn't Palutena's personal assisstant. And 'helping' him out with monster pheremones might not have been the kindest gift. Because of this, one might think she didn't appreciate Pit. Nothing is farther from the truth. She actually has a lot of faith in him, trusting in his bravery and skill to help her take down their enemies. And besides admitting that all she has if she loses him are centurions, there's also quite a strong emotional attachment. She worries about him when he battles, especially in the air, and keeps a close watch on the time limit for the power of flight. And when he does push himself too hard and his wings burn up, she's devastated, and willing to go to great lengths to save him.

And before I forget to mention it, Uprising doesn't have much in the way of a fourth wall. More like a flimsy partition that keeps getting knocked down. Palutena and Pit make frequent references to other Nintendo games as well as various genre conventions such as levels, bosses, and loading screens. Although Palutena isn't always quite as savvy with her references as Pit is, mentioning the game 'Super Bash Sisters.' (Instead of Super Smash Brothers) Besides video games, anachronistic statements are peppered throughout the game. Palutena laments not having the time to read her fellow gods' blogs, and at one point asks Pit if he'd like to order a pizza. (She had a coupon.) They even find time to discuss Pit's health insurance plan.

Canon Powers:
Telepathy(Mind)- Like all gods in that world, Palutena is a very strong telepath, able to hold mental conversations with people from a great distance. She can also join telepathic conversations already taking place.
Power of Flight(Mind/Wind)- She can grant someone(usually Pit) the power to fly for five minutes.
Teleportation(Mind)- She can teleport people(also usually Pit) back to her sanctum.
All Seeing Eye(Mind)- Palutena is quite gifted when it comes to scrying, and is able to see people and places that are very far away.
Illusionary Projection(Mind)- Another ability common to all the gods, this allows her to project a gigantic image of herself in the sky. (It has no actual practical application, it's really just grandstanding.)
Light Based Projectiles(Light)- While we only get to see her in a single battle , Palutena's preferred method of combat revolves around shooting what amount to light lasers of various sizes at her opponents. They can be broken down into 3 basic types: fast shots that do minimal damage, larger but slower shots that pack more of a punch, and homing shots that can track the target.
Grind Rails(Physical)- These are single rails that curve around and make it easier for Pit to traverse uneven terrain. Once you step on them at one end, they will take you to the other end very quickly.
Resurrection(Mind)- She can resurrect Pit and her centurions when they fall in battle.
Turn People into Objects(Mind)- She turns Pit into a ring for 3 years. How she accomplishes this or whether she can transform others into things besides rings is not really explored in detail.
Show the Inner Soul(Almighty)- This is the curse she used on Medusa, for which Medusa wants revenge. It will transform someone's appearance to match their inner soul. Medusa was evil, so she became hideous. Given how it went the first time, she is not likely to use this again.

Staff(Physical/Light)- A large, ornate staff. It serves as her primary weapon and a focus for her light spells.
Shield(Physical/Light)- She wears this sheild on her arm when se goes into battle. It functions as a normal shield, helping her deflect attacks.

A pretty white dress with a red stripe on the neckline, decorated with an ornate golden belt and a gold laurel crown. (So, yeah. Nothing useful.)
